Bbbbbbrrrrray Harbor 12/10/09

#1 Post by Cormdogg »

Me, Rob Dec

7-11

Freezing!

Rag

two hook flappers, one up one downs, baited feathers! mini rigs, floats

tide high at 6 so on way out

Results poor, Dec- one dab and one, one pollock. Me- 2 rockling, one codling, one blennie, one scorpion fish Rob zilch

The pot, a horde of rockling, blennies crab and 4 large prawns that were fried that night, tasty

Have been away on Holidays for 2 weeks, ending up in Vegas where I actually caught a lobster in a claw vending machine thingy, not crabs before you jokers cant control yourselves! ;)

So went out with the two house mates, who in my absence had completely cleaned out the box and stripped the reels down to barely a thread, but in fairness to them they tried to restock it with all manner of things, the boys in Dun Laoighre tackle have some questions to answer!

Arrived in Bray as it got dark and fell below zero, Set up all sorts, out far, in close, down the wall, in the harbour, on the float. Almost zero action. The crab were on the bait in seconds. Lads at the end caught one doggie, guy beside us got a few tiny dab and rockling, same with the chap on out other side. Not a great session. Id only the codling out far the rest right down the wall. And to take the p1ss again, Dec caught a dab! The elusive Dab! Got a dog bite at end on the tail end of a bit of mack I found on the ground!

With darkness and winter upon us can anyone recommend other pier harbour marks, im not a big fan of the rocks in winter months. Unless you're geared up with proper lighting. For a quick session piers are generally easier

I'm sick and tired of wee remarks about Wicklow! I was merely marking my territory over the summer!

Well done lads, was there myself last night and the weather was the exact opposite,,,,really mild,,was too warm in my jacket   .Got some small codling, some small pollock,, a pouting and some whiting to 28cms. Hard enough fishing and really had to tease them to take a bite. Water was like glass,,,,,,,,,was beautiful seeing the swans glide by
