rodbender wrote:Well done pal. Bet you two are glad to be out and about again. A slow start but a great finish. Congrats on the conger but I reckon shorty will better that before the years out
thanks ivan. now that i've got a double figure eel anytime we're out fishing it's only fair that i let shorty hit any runs we get on the 2 conger rods. i can't wait to see the scrap he'd have landing a big eel     the one he lost at our huss mark was around 15lb and you should have seen and heard the huffing and puffing outta him trying to get it to the shore
seanie35 wrote:great report good to see ye back where ye belong (on a rock somewhere) :D 8)
cheers seanie, it's good to be back

    cheers neil. i see it did'nt take him too long to beat it thow :D even the best of us can have an off day   not that something like that could happen to you or i      or is it that we just don't post the blanks    less said the better
dfella25 wrote:Nice session lads must feel good to get back with such a productive session.
thanks man. but believe it or not that was actually a quiet one for that mark   i've been smashed up by a few big fish there on sand eel.... but in our eager over excitement to get out i forgot to lift a packet outta the freezer    ah well,,,, there's always next time
nobuzz wrote:Great to see you guys back in action.
Daniel & myself have had a relatively quiet season. We might squeeze in a few trip to D'dee over the next month.

thanks alan. if you're gonna head down to donaghadee in the next few weeks drop me a line and we could join you if we're free. jordan would like one of those haddock for his species list
fishermannum1 wrote:cracker of a session al, and well done on the pb conger 8) 8)
great report and pic's :P al did the wee man get his new rod Christened ?
thanks don. the new rod is back in the tackle shop. we discovered upon taking it outta the bag that the 6 1/2 foot 6oz section had a smashed up eye    the steel eye was actually bent right back over on it's self and the ceramic ring insert was in tiny bits in the bottom of the bag    when i took it back i discovered it was the last grauvell rc beach fs model they had in stock    so i'll call back down today to see about exchanging it for another model i paid £130 for it so i'm within the price range of a diawia sandstorm or a sonik sk2 or 3 or a greys beach model. i'll need to see what he can do for me when i call in later
KERRY1 wrote:Well done the both of you :D That was some day's fishing you's had!
Al, did Jordan have you up as early as you had said he would then?
It was great seeing you on saturday for a session and catching up on things.
I'll not mention our near disaster if you don't mate, eh? What a laugh!
I think the next time we should come better prepared!
It gave Dawsey and Norman I laugh at least!

You couldn’t have timed it any better!
Typical, I felt really wick and you standing laughing at us didn’t help matters much. I’ll get ya back just you wait.
It was a close call, we nearly had to send for the coastguard!
It was just as well we headed for high ground when we did although we still ended up getting wet!
Norman was o.k., he had his thigh waders on.
It was Al and I who didn’t come prepared although we didn’t expect such a big tide. Nightmare!

      bloody right i looked a bit dubious holding that eel. solid big lump of muscle. i was beginning to have a rethink about holding him like that when he nutted me as i was waiting for junior to get a shot that he felt was up to scratch for our album. bad enough he covered my face with slime when he headbutted me,,, i was just worried that he might bite my face or something as he was writhing in my arms     you should see some of the other pics of it trying to get outta my hands

Dan,

I saw a conger caught on Donaghadee Pier last Sunday night.

It wasn't terribly big but it'd be another step towards your target and its on your doorstep.

Fish straight down the wall with a big lump of mackeral.

Good luck.
Species List 2012 (Me) - Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Plaice, Codling, pollack, dab, SS Scorpion Fish, Ballan Wrasse, Codling.

Species List 2012 (Daniel) - Not got started yet :-(
