Wexford mark

#1 Post by Surfrod »

People: Me

Duration: 1pm to 5pm

Tide: Out and then coming in

Weather: Excellent

Bait: Lug and Mack

Results: 2 Flounder

Report: Was to have taken off for a spot of fishing on Saturday but high winds put paid to that idea.
Sunday's weather report was much better so packed me gear and headed down to the sunny southeast mark.
An hour and a half later pulled in alongside the pier. Another lad by the name of Gus was also setting up.
Two hook flapper up baited with mack and cast out.
Bang, inside two minutes, I had a bite. Reeled in and a nice flounder on.
Not a whisp of wind about so slapped on a bell.
Ding dong denny every cast. Might have been crabs or small pollock or codling, but having great craic watching the bell going dingaling a ling.
At about 4pm, after another ring, reeled in and another flounder on this time taking lug.
Good weather, good fishing and good company from Gus, who also caught a flounder. What more could a man ask for on a autuminal evening.
One more cast and I'll be off
