Duration:17:00 to 21:00

Tide:high 17:28 4.9m

Weather:dry and strong gale

Bait:rag,sandeel,feathers

Rigs:various

Results:1 corkwing wrasse,1 Long-spined Sea Scorpion,1 dog fish




Report:went out to use up the last of the rag i got a 10 days ago,only 2 dead in the box so was happy,started off with the corkwing wrasse on the rag on baited feathers

then got the dog fish on the sandeel

later on when i was getting ready to move on to my pollack spot got the Sea Scorpion on rag,tried the feathers at the pollack mark but no pollack around

Nice one Gerry, glad to see the rag lasted that long for you. We managed Ray, Huss, Doggies, another 4LB Pollack and of course Wrasse later that week. If you need more rag let me know and we will try to get them down to you somehow. Now you should try a good sized sandeel (on a running ledger) at that Wrasse mark into darkness and hopefully the big Pollack should oblige.

not too bad at all for 4 hours fishing gerry :P that sea scorpion is a very red looking chap :? :? i had one before that was bright friggin orange :shock: :shock: :shock: i was worried that he might set a geiger counter haywire :shock: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

thanks again mark for the rag,might take you up on that offer some time,well done on the ray and huss and the pollack,nice to get them that size
was talking to a lad at the weekend and he told me you can get nice cod at the first beach i met you at,he said to fish it at night on the incoming tide,he also told me of a good bass beach,he saw tourist catching some descent ones at it,will have to try it out some day

weird looking fish the scorpion fish,hard to know how to hold them,one thing i would not do is put my finger near it mouth,they have a strong bite,the Three Bearded Rockling give me the hebby geebies,they always seem to make a snap at me like a dog

i hate the short sessions :roll: he was redder then the one i caught before,they must change to match the ground they are at
