Dalriada, Co Antrim

#1 Post by JAMMYJOEY »

People: Me and Jonny

Duration: 16:50 to 22:40

Tide: High water 22:10

Weather: Blustery with some heavy showere

Bait: Rag, Mackeral and Sandeel

Rigs: 2 Hook flappers and single hook clipped

Results: Me 2 codling, 2 dogs, 2 bull huss and 1 dab, Jonny 1 dog and 1 dab

Report: Headed up the Antrim coast as we though we could find somewhere to give protection from the strong winds. Looked at a few marks but decided on Dalriada. Turned out to be a good move as we had loads of protection and it turned out quite pleasant.

There seem to be loads of fish about at the moment and we were getting some great bites right from the start.

I'm over the moon with getting the 2 huss as well as they're my first ever. When i caught the first one i was holding it upside dowm and thought i had a specimen dog as it was about 3 pounds. I got really excited when i noticed the nasal flaps and flipped it over immediately to see the beautiful big spots of a huss.

Had a great nights sport and am chuffed to bits at the new species

Yes mate that was us on the pier. We had to wear waders as there was water coming over it most of the night. Saw you guys off to the left. You left a bit before us.

The tides are crap for this weekend but we're gonna give up there a go again on sat see if there are still some fish about mate
