7/0 pennel 100 to 200 lb mono onto your shockleader with a good bead infront of the swivel :wink:

lovely fish, makes the smuts seem tiny, will have to give it a go with eyes,

super fish well done lads id say the craic was brilliant; the fight off a tope in the boat is fantastic cant imagine what its like on the shore on 15lb thats really great angling

great catch as newbie it certainly whets my appetite,
maybe this was anserwed already,
what size hook, i usually use 1/0 off shore, is that too small for tope?

Wow cracking fish there lads and to land it on that gear, well done. :D Never tried targeting tope myself but now I have sooo many questions when, where, what gear, what distance etc, :? would love to catch something that size from the shore. Well done again lads. :D

any of the wick beaches should produce em, use a whole mack as far as you can put it, and if your unsure of your knots and stuff use 25lb mainline or even 30lb and a big reel,
150 to 200 lb mono to 8/0, 10/0 hooks

ive had most of mine at night so fish the night tides if you can, enjoy
