County Down Rock Mark
People: Me
Duration: 1000-1500
Tide:From Ebb to low
Weather: Sunny, with overcast spells
Bait: Rag, Sandeel, Mack, and Squid
Rigs: Float and Pennel pulley
Results: 1 Cuckoo Wrasse, Numerous Ballan and a Ling
Report: Headed off this morning after doing the school run, knowing the tide was already on the drop, so by the time I got to my mark it was on the ebb by an hour or so. Got the Beachcaster out straight away with a pulley rig using sandeel and squid. I had barely begun rigging the float rod, when the bells went ding a ling, and in came this nice little cuckoo. Have to say totally chuffed, but taken by surprise, as I was well out into a sandybottom. Got the float rigged up and spent the rest of the day, playing with the Wrasse. Some good fish today, culminating in the lunker of wrasse I've shown you. I estimate about 4lb maybe a bit more, as it was the full size of my bar towel. Shortly after lunch the bells went again, and in came the Ling. It was a good bite, and kept pulling, when I saw it in the water, I thought it was a doggy, but what a surprise, it made my day.
All in all a productive day, and coupled with the weather, it turned out to be a great day.

Ta everyone!
Davy I was hitting a good 75-100yds with the cast. When I started fishing the tide was full. I caught the cuckoo first cast. It dropped a good 12-15ft today. Even at low tide my 5oz lead was still taking a few seconds to hit bottom. I reckon about 30-40ft at the outset!
