Ennerilley 27-09-09

#1 Post by eyesreilly »

People:me, fishface , mitch

Duration:6pm-10pm

Tide:falling

Weather:dead calm, mild

Bait:rag,mack,squid,lug

Rigs:1 hook clipped down, 2 hook flappers

Results:mini fish, whiting, dabs, codling, weevers

Report:not much to write home about here  .Arrived at the little car park at Ennereilly and just about managed to get a parking spot, it was that busy,,,there again its full after 7 or 8 cars   . . Fishface arrived at the same time and spent the next half hour trying to park his limousine  .Mitch was already set up and had a few small fish . Al, Mb3, and JD from the site were also there so once I set up I went down to warn them about what they might expect from Fishface,,,,,,,,,,,,the corny jokes  ,,,,the old fishing stories and worst of all,,,,,,,,,,,,,the Petzl Ultra   .It was a beautiful evening and we cast out our juicy baits and waited for it all to happen,,,,,,,,,,,and waited,,,,,,,, and waited,,, and waited :? :? .I was piggy in the middle (again) between Fishface and Mitch and was getting worried when they both caught dabs but God is good and i didnt have to wait too long to get a nice perfectly formed Dab of my own. Blank saved but i got that Ennereilly feeling again and knew it wouldnt happen for me tonight. A dab, a few whiting and a small codling was my lot, nothing over 20 cms. Mitch and Fishface went one species better adding weevers to the list.I'd have been delighted with one for the species tally  . Fishface had a double of weevers and asked me to unhook his two "whiting" Wonder what I did on him :? .Naw,,, he wouldnt purposely do that to a mate just for slagging him about his blank in Wicklow Harbour last week. Oops,,,,I promised I wouldnt mention his blank in Wicklow harbour again  ,,,,,,,i'll delete this bit later(the bit about his blank in Wicklow Harbour last week   ). He then went up to the lads for a chat,,,,,and to show them his Petzl Ultra   .They let on to be impressed and humoured him for a while  He stepped in a pile of horse shi,,,,,,,,,,,manure on the way back,,,,,i kid you not   Al got a couple of dogs later on,well done.It was so exciting looking at motionless rod tips that we left at 10pm,,,,,,,,,good craic though

ps,went to the steps at Greystones last night to use up the last of the lug, got a codling and a whiting . 2 young guys fishing there, showed great respect for the fish they caught,,,nice to see it  . Saw 2 great shooting stars also,,wouldnt have seen them if i'd stayed in .
