Tide:lw5.30pm

Weather:lovely

Bait:sandeel,rag,crab,mack

Rigs:gigging sandeel+rag 1 up 1 down

Results:pollock wrass(ballan+corkwing)mullet,mack,flounder,lsd

Report:arrived at the hook to flat calm sea so headed around to the east of the lighthouse got set up and away we went. first in was gitsea on his first cast with a pollock of about 1/2 pound on rag and that was the start of things to come we were geting fish on nearly every cast with gitsea and gavin gigging rag and me gigging a sandeel on one of my cast i was just about to lift the sandeel out of the water and then i seen a big black shadow shoot up from deep and attack it the rod doubled.fish on me thinking nice pollock but then i could see a big silver flash happy days a bass i tought how wrong was i got the fish to the surface to see a mullet could not belive it never tought i would get one on sand eel after that i had another few pollock and gitsea and gavin were kept busy with the pollock and wrass around 5pm things went quite so we packed up and headed for sandeel bay in the end i had 3pollock ,up to 1.5 pounds 1 mullet just over 3lb gitsea 6 pollock up to 1.5 lb and 6 wrass gavin 9 wrass and 1 pollock arrived on sandeel and had some dinner before we casted again on our first cast both me a gitsea were into fish gitsea with a flounder and me with a mack witch took rag and nearly pulled the rod into the drink i tought it was a bass the way it bit but i guss it was not ment to be that was all i got for the night gitsea had another nice flounder and a dog all in all a great days fishing with plenty of fish gitsea has more photos that he will put up

Congratulations on the mullet you caught.

Maybe we should give the sandeel a go Davy and see if it works for us.
Have you tried for the mullet again recently?
