Silverstrand, Galway 23-9-09

People:Mise

Duration:2030-2230

Tide:HT ~ 2030

Weather:Mild, breezy, nice night

Bait:Mack

Rigs:3 hook flappers

Results:Flounder




Report:Was going to fish here Monday evening but the waves were breaking onto the carpark and it was full of weed, so left it til tonight. Nice surf running, looked perfect for the flatties.
Lug from the weekend hadn't survived, so it was mack strip or nothing. First cast had a clonker at 39cm, equals the biggest flat I've had from this beach. Couple more smaller fish after that, then the crabs got in on the action and the baits were coming back stripped clean, shortly after that the weed got a lot worse so I gave up early. Happy with the first fish though, as good as they get here :D

Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

Nice Flounder by the way still doesn't top my 40cm from there though :wink: :P

40cm, hmmm, must get out again next week... :)
