WRASSE ATTACK CO.SLIGO 23 SEPTEMBER 09

People:Myself

Duration:3HRS

Tide:Stranding

Weather:Windy but dry

Bait:Limpet

Rigs:Single hook

Results:6 Ballan Wrasse




Report:Wednesday 23

With all my rock marks too dangerous to fish cause of large swells & strong winds for the past week I was glad to find one of them fishable even though it was still fairly rough some places were sheltered. So wasted no time on with the bait dropped down alongside the rock edge & connected with a small Wrasse, quick photo & off he went, dropped down again bang a nice plump one gave a mighty scrap & got into the weed, had with a bit of a struggle but got him out was very happy, put him a rook pool to recover for a while. Got another four good Ballan was a great wee session plenty of action from start to finish. :D

nice fishing fk,lovely looking fish,they put up a good scrap all right.

Nice Wrasse 8) that looks like a lovely mark plenty of gullies and reefs must be nice Pollack there too.... fairly rough looking sea in the background :shock:

It's a great spot for big Wrasse & Pollack got a 9.5lb one there a few years ago & lost some bigger ones very deep mark alway seems to be rough there.
