Aillroe Shore - Shannon Estuary
People:Neilus, Cronin, me
Duration:6:30pm until 9:45pm
Tide:High at 11pm
Weather:Light Breeze, Cold with a couple of light showers
Bait:Mackerel & Squid
Rigs:Pulley Rigs
Results:Not even a bite.
Report:The only life we spotted all evening was a group of about 6-10 dolphins happily feeding in the middle of the estuary. Weed wasnt too bad and I didnt find it too snaggy.
Henry Gilbey's huss were definately not around!

Fished competition on the capa shoreline on Sunday. Rods were constantly tapping with mainly dogs but also ray, huss and my first ever stinger. Fish weren't big but it was non-stop action. I'd guess there were Plenty of mackerel out there as there was gull action and a couple fell to baits. Talk was there were plenty of ray in Poulnasharry and lots bass showing on the clare surf beachs.
Plenty of very good local anglers have had no success at aillroe as well as bad non-local ones like me. Saying that we could all be fishing the wrong tide or conditions or just be there on the wrong day.

Hi Donagh, we are going to give this venue a good go when we come over   We are going to try the flood all the way up and also the ebb all the way down :?
Can anyone on the forum give me the tide times for 13th/17th Oct, for this area. I have had them before but missed place them, Im sure they were mid afternoon H/W on the 13th.

Hello Wayne,
Go to the shannon port authority website and you can see the tide tables for the estuary:
http://www.sfpc.ie/publications_tidetables.html
If I fish aillroe between now and october I will post an update.

Yep! well up for a match with you guys, should be good craic.
I have spoken to a few people on here, to arrange a meet-up, but you are logged on as a quest, I don't know who you are, sorry.
We will be over on 13th Oct to 17th Oct. If you can pick a suitable venue for that weekend (period) and get together some locals. There will now only be 5 of us, though, if you can sort this out and let me Know, I am sure we can sort something out.
If there are more than 5 of you local lads interested in meeting up, may be we can all fish individualy for heaviest fish, etc.

Hi Will, how are you m8?
I have posted a reply in the shore angling q&a forum, under the thread Shannon.
If you are going the week before us you will be on the smaller tides, we are going on the spring tides, so let me know how you all do.
How are jer and dar? haven't see them in ages.
Did you fish the Gowerton comp on Sunday?
