you may be right dennis but i would suppose i would not have that problem as my casting would not put as much pressure on the line as what yours would,,wish i had that problem though will have to practise my casting

same here, a good pre stretch before tightning the crimps does the trick, not a big fan of amnesia anymore, bought a few bad spools recently, found it very coily and crinkled. no amount of stretching fixed it. never seem to have that problem with the flouro. the stren stuff, doesnt stretch and sits off the rig nicely. saying that, whiting will distroy it after sitting on the trace too long, ends up coming back looking like and srt spring :x

'me thinks people are getting to tech with there fishing'

i think there's truth in that but at the end of the day like most things see what works for you- no harm trying a few things out.

Instead of using a bottom crimp to hold a swivel in place use neopreone rig tubing from gemini to create a moveable stop. If the snood strechs have a enough room to adjust. Makes the rig much easier to resnood even when fishing.

As regards snoods I like to use suffix 60-80lb superior or varivas shock for my pulley snoods. I use 30lb amneasia for up and over and another selection of pulleys for cleaner ground. For clip down rigs I use 20-25lb snoods dependent on the hook size I'll be using and therefore the fish I'll be targeting. 15lb amnesia for flapper and have varivas flouro for flappers held with the rig beads for scratching.

cant stand adjustable crimps/stoppers on clip down rg bodies, they always pop out when i cast them,

Had that problem with silicon tubing dependent on the make. Neopreone is rock solid for me anyway.

I have found that the make of snood line and the breaking strain depends on the fish your going after, ie dogs/whiting 20-30 lb and small fish and flates 12-15lb also the hooks size and bait being used would be different and the lenght of the snoods.

When using the silcone slider option. For a clipped down rig I started using 6 - 8 silcone sliders to stop it going anywhere for a powerful cast. makes the difference even if your bringing it a double shot of dogs .
I have to agree I am not a fan of amensia snood line, Stren and Sakuma are probably the best I have used. Far better for long snoods.
