west waterford 18/9/09

People:me,n colin

Duration:10/12 and 5/7.30pm.

Tide:

Weather:settled

Bait:flys/lures

Rigs:

Results:bass and mullet

Report: went to a good mark,good tide rip, tryed few lures, no joy, figured there must be bass there, very bright clear, go deep, on with an xslayer 3/4th cast got a tug, so tugged back, fish on, bout 3lb. got 3 more in next 10 mins. all bout same size, colin then got stranded on a sandbank....he was rescued.................i think......went out for hw. no bass but found some mullet feedin on maggots..... got about 10 up to 7lb, lost 2 others that were much bigger, colin hooked an lost 15+/- before gettin 1 on the beach..were goin back tomorrow.

What a session cortaz!!! 10 mullet up to 7lb's that is some going mate. And the bass along with it, you were kept busy, really good fishing Well done!

martin, he,s still got the pics, and some from yesterday/today and hopefully tomorrow, he forgot (again) to bring the com/camera wire, got the bass off the bank were you got yrs, remember that daiwa sandeel type/colour i got of ya, it,s catchin its fair share, outfishin the feed shallow at times.

rubber maggots dunner, lost em,then used the white stuff outa ciggie butts, burnt at both ends, looks very realistic, ya can get 3/4 from each butt. in the 2 hours we fished we hooked/lost/missed about 100, 2 stripped the line/backing and then strightened the hook, 5 of the fish were 6/7lb. if we had spent more time we would have got more. only went at em while waitin for the bass to arrive. :)
In the second pic. the black spots are fishes heads/backs.

Do you lads buy your lures etc. locally.
A cousin of mine lives near where you are fishing and is looking for some close by if possible.
