Old Head area 19th July

#1 Post by blackiemc »

Very pleased with a short angling session today

Venue:Old Head of Kinsale area, Co. Cork
Date: 19th Sep
Time: 10.30
Tide: ebbing
Weather: drizzle/dry, light SW breeze
Rig: lead head plus jelly worm
Results: 6lb Pollack on light spinning rod

Went for a rare paddle with a non angling mate.
Got time on the way back for some casts, and for one reason and another I only got about 15 minutes fishing, during which I caught this decent fish.

That's the biggest fish I've caught with that rod and only my second kayak caught fish. The rod is a light cheap spinning rod, he gave a couple of great lunges, my fingers were crossed that I wouldn't lose him. Short and very sweet :D .
