fahan 17.09.09

#1 Post by last cast lad »

People:me and mick

Duration:8.30pm-12.45am

Tide:very low at 12.20

Weather:mild

Bait:mackeral,bluey,squid

Rigs:flapper, pulley

Results:2 dogfish

Report: went to fahan with high expectations as dead low water in darkness was very low dropped right down into the steep bank of the channel, hoped this would cause the thornies to congrgate and be concentrated there. Arrived as the tide was still just about half way down and the rip of tide flowing down the channel was incredible. 5 oz grip lead was each cast pulled through 90 degrees in about 3 min :!: so we had nothing for the first 3 hrs then the water slacked off but still nothing, it was an hour later before we each had a doggie and went home

Agree with Don, Fahan Rays dont like the springers.I find Fahan Best fished with really low difference in tide. ie 2.7m - 1.2m. good luck

just checked on line, low tide size is app; 0.3 think i'll give it a miss, recon it will be a waste of time for the ray
