waterford bass 18.9.09

#1 Post by loxia »

people:me
duration:9-11.30
tide:dropping
weather:light winds
bait:lures
results:1 bass

i decided to go in the kayak this morning its been a few weeks since i had used it.i dont fish from the kayak i just use it to get from a-b.so i was in the water at 9 and off i went i was at my mark in 10 minutes the tide was racing out big time so this helped me along.i got myself sorted and put on a giant xlayer and out it went after 5 minutes fish on i really got a nice scrap from this fish its the fight i love from these fish on light gear.3 other people were fishing near to me and one of them came over and he weighed it at 4llb4oz so a quick photo and back it went.i tried various lures and plastics after that but no more fish so i went home happy with my lot.

Nice bass - well done.
Those Xlayers are lethal alright - I reckon if the fish are there you are going to catch them with the Xlayers.
Yours look a bit purple - what variety are they? The ones I have been using have more or a greenish-grey tint.

You wont look back!!

I have only been using them for a couple of weeks - the first day out with them I got 9 bass, second time 1 bass but lost a big one (and I was fishing the wrong stage of the tide for that particular mark) and then yesterday afternoon I headed out fished into a slightly deeper water mark and got 11 pollock plus a solitary mackerel.
