LFSAC pollon bay/ culdaff bay

#1 Post by MC »

People: just a small turn out

Date :tue the 8-9-09

Venue:pollon bay (too rough) so changed to culdaff

Duration:3 hours 8pm to 11pm

Tide:flooding

Weather:nice a few heavy showers, strong winds at pollon but sheltered at culdaff

Bait:er everything

Rigs:er everything again but mainly 3 hook flappers

Results:no one blanked, still waiting on full results but i was 3rd with one counting flounder, undersize turbot and coalie

Report: got to pollon bay about 7.20pm for the start of the match but with the waves very large abd lots of weed and 6oz grip getting washed into the next peg it was decided to head to culdaff for shelter and change the match to a 8pm start.

so off we go with a nice surf running it was out with the rigs, it was hectic stuff with fish being got each cast(not me but) but most were undersized, a few nice flounders got, by the time i got a fish to count i was loseing but it was still fun, It was a good job i was beside Ronan when he got a triple shot with what he though was a small whitening on the botton hook, he didnt see it was a weever, but he does now. I missed a good knock close to the end of the match and not much else so packed up and headed home,

all my fish took rag or rag, mackeral combo

Damn weavers. :x . Ballyliffen was a nightmare to hold ground. Great wee sesh at Culdaff but alot of undersize. I had about 4 or 5 treble shots and 3 counters 22, 25 & 26. Nice to see a few different species about flounder, turbot, coalies, whiting and weaver. Roll on Benone in 2 weeks time for the loughs agency comp. It fished exellant last sunday. 8)
