Big well done one your fish pal. It's nice to see that some bass are still in Malahide and fair play for going back to try. It must have felt good to have gone with your instincts and it worked out. It just goes to show what putting in the hours does and you have a sweet dinner as a result! I like most others am truly delighted for you.

Fine looking fish can,t wait to catch my own first Bass too, which i will eat and obviously within the legal requirements.Hope its as tasty as it looks S.B.
And to the critics of this catch, everybodys entitled to an opinion of course, but theres no need to shoot from the lip .You should have asked questions 1st or even commented to a mod to investigate instead of marginising yourselves from us decent folk who are only here to learn and develope our Angling skills.

And as a wise man once said

Measured the chopping board and it's just over 15" and the fishes mouth and tail both protuded past the ends so the fish was 16". I can post a picture of chopping board and tape measure if you like.

I take your point though even if it was made abruptly.

PS I checked back and it was also you who gave out about BREEDING SIZE bass being taking. And has ben in my mind for weeks too.

So, it's been established the fish was likely a keeper. Good, glad that's cleared up. Congrats to SwordsBeginner on your first ever Bass.

Now, the rest of yiz - and I mean all of yiz that posted on here that kept the pot stirred: No more of these antics please. Look down therein the bottom right corner of each post, see the wee red exclaimation mark?

!

Well, use that to report offensive posts to the mods.

And then let the mods do their thing.
