hey guys, i was bait fishing on saturday using sand ell and i kept catching a fish that looks like a ling but was bright red in colour on its stomich! what was it?

what fish
Fish could possibly have been a rockling. Was it caught on the bottom or mid water ? What size was it ? Was it taken from the shore or on a boat ?
What was the sea bed like, clean or rough ? Any pattern on body ?
