Report

After seeing a couple of reports and having family/grandchildren over for the last week decided I needed some R & R and a session!! was gonna fish the strand for a change but decided against after remembering forecast. then decided to try some rock hopping but again feared for my life when I saw what was coming in over em.

I opted for the safe option and fished the harbour in Mullaghmore, no tourists and only 2 small boats out on the oggie set up on the breakwater and tried an hour of spinning ut drew a blank, as the weather went downhill decided to fish inside the harbour to see if any flatties about but all that was taking mussel & limpet was small pouting. so changed to 2 hook flap.

Using sandeel & mack cocktail on size 2 hook sat and waited for bites to come nothing till bout 19.30 then was into a shoal of macks got 3 nice size (1lb ish each) for the pot then lost count of small ones coming thick and fast every cast bait never settled.

Went back to car to get camera and cast again nothing not a sausage for 20 mins then bang again Pollack by the dozen 1 nice one about 1 1/2 lb then small ones committing suicide onto the hook 1 even had 1 retrieve with 2 on 1 hook side by side.

I caught 2 fish of which i am unsure of help appreciated

All in all an enjoyable evening but had to stop as waves were giving me a real soaking

Warren
