Re: The Fabulous Ennerielly 04-09-09
Shane, and why shouldnt 1/2 of Ireland be down there fishing now trying to catch a few decent fish, its good to spread the word and help people find some fish. And surely thats the purpose of the shore reports forum. I know for sure I have been very greatful to site members for posting reports, as it has helped me to catch decent fish at venues I may not have considered if it wasnt for a few decent reports here.
Ultimately its for the angler posting the report to choose if they wish to disclose their mark, I wouldnt name a mark if it was given to me by somebody else I would respect their wish for privacy if needed, but this place is a very well know mark.
This discussion has been had a thousand times on this site before anyway.....its personal preference.
I did 14 hours driving last weekend heading out to Connermara to fish 2 well know ray marks (due to the east coast venues not producing), all in the quest to catch my 1st ray of the year......I ended up with 1 for my trouble, so there is nothing guaranteed in the sport.
Plenty of people have fished ennerielly in the last month or so, with very mixed results anyway, you gotta put the time in to catch a few decent fish, thats the way it goes.
I know what you mean about the trawlers though, but they shouldnt be fishing so close to the shoreline anyway, and if they do, well then its for us anglers to report them to the authorities and let them deal with the problem. I do feel that us pleasure anglers are over-paronoid at times about the threat of trawlers.
This is a regulary fished part of the coast line, and we anglers have a duty of care to report any illegal fishing activity be it commercial or pleasure angling.
A good pair of binoculars in the tackle box will help to get the names of any vessels breaking the law.
But on a lighter note yeh the fishing was pretty good, thanks

Re: The Fabulous Ennerielly 04-09-09
Excellent fishing lads, well done. If half of Ireland fish the venue soon most will blank
It's very hard to get such good fishing of this beach. I tried it on and off for ages and never had a session like this.
As for the Trawlers. They work off that part of the coast all the time. Not so close in though. Someone mentioned to me (DBrock, I think) That the Arklow white fish fleet has shut down....... Perhaps this has something to do with the fishing getting a bit better.
Either Way, excellent report.
