Skate to 124lb (Congratulations for breaking the Ton, to Davy McCormick of North Down) , Spurdogs to 15lb, Congers to 12lb and a Load of Sandy dogs on Mackeral and Squid.... Love it, Thanks to Sean McKay of the 'Lad Linda).

Kieran, Up here they often call L.S.D's "Sand Dogs".

I've heard that LSD's were used to sand down the decks of ships before the advent of sandpaper. Maybe that's where the name came from. Coincidentally I was watching Ray Mears, on BBC2 this week, talking to a guy who made bows (as in bows and arrows). He also said that before they had sandpaper they used to use dogfish to smooth down the bows.
