texted one of my mates to head out but match-of-the-day

was his fix for the night! was he sorry.
while rolling a smoke i missed a bite

told myself it was probably an eel, a few minutes later i struck and missed another(eel probably!) an hour into fishing and after moving to another spot the rod buckled like a train hit it! the line wizzed off the spool,,, i struck and the line kept going, i tightened the drag a bit to put pressure on and the fish slowed down and
then changed direction, reeling like a mad thing to keep the strain

the fish turned again to take a run and after a few more minutes of reeling the fish came to the shore still objecting
to me reeling him in!
after another minute or so i landed the fish. was i happy
my mate was raging he sat in to watch his footie and miss the fishing.
i decided to keep the fish as i haven't kept one since 2006/7.
looking forward to the feast.
best scrap in a long time.
