dublin bass 29th august 09

#1 Post by rustyhookthomas »

people- just me!
location- dublin
duration- 21:00-22:30
tide-h.w. about 20:30 or so
weather-dead calm, not a breeze, no surf
rigs- two hook flapper
bait- lug from yesterdays session
result- 1 bass, 1 eel.
texted one of my mates to head out but match-of-the-day :? was his fix for the night! was he sorry.
while rolling a smoke i missed a bite :( told myself it was probably an eel, a few minutes later i struck and missed another(eel probably!) an hour into fishing and after moving to another spot the rod buckled like a train hit it! the line wizzed off the spool,,, i struck and the line kept going, i tightened the drag a bit to put pressure on and the fish slowed down and
then changed direction, reeling like a mad thing to keep the strain :| :| the fish turned again to take a run and after a few more minutes of reeling the fish came to the shore still objecting
to me reeling him in!
after another minute or so i landed the fish. was i happy :D :D
my mate was raging he sat in to watch his footie and miss the fishing.
i decided to keep the fish as i haven't kept one since 2006/7.
looking forward to the feast.
best scrap in a long time.Image

leave the guy alone. if he caught it he can keep it, at least he was honest in sayin he kept it. 99.9% of fish caught by members here are "put back"

nice fish there, good to get a scrap from them.

lads this is getting beyond a joke a man cant keep a fish with out being slaughtered on the site . it is getting to a stage where people wont put up posts . the law states that you can keep 2 bass and thats final . well done on the bass man hope it tastes nice for ya keep it simple stick a bay leaf in the cavity

Nice one Thomas on a belter of a fish. I wish I'd got out last night for a session. I'd love some bass for Sunday dinner today.

Fintin that's interesting about the bay leaf! I must try that instead of the normal lime and chilli in the cavity.

Lads, please. Can you keep remarks relevant to rustyhookthomas' fish and fishing, and leave the whole C&R Vs C&K debate out of it?

We've had that debate ad nauseum on this site. It's old news, we're all aware of the opinions involved, any re-hashing of it is not going to serve any purpose whatsoever other than cause division and ill-feeling.
