People: Ross and Dave son of Ross
Duration: 3 hrs
Tide: last 3 of ebb
Weather: Fresh S
Bait: Mackerel
Rigs: Float fished
Results:
1 Grey Mullet 4 lbs. to Dave
We both had a lot of small Smelt
Report:
Mullet were slow to come to groundbait. Cormorants and Smelt showed more interest at first!
A few Mullet came on the feed and Dave nailed a good one! We forgot the drop net so a net was borrowed from Luke Aston's boat and I went down the ladder to net the fish after a good scrap! It was Dave's first Mullet ever!
I had a good run from a Conger but failed to hook up. Thanks to Luke for the Mackerel and the net!

I would like to try the Mullet fishing but I have no experience using floats etc.
Is it the same as coarse fishing where you have to plumb depths etc?
Can anyone give me a quick few pointers regarding this - how to set up the float rig and fish it - and the bait presentation etc?
Cheers
