Re: How has your summer fishing been?
It was an overall great experience for me and my fishing buddies. We started fishing only this summer and got hooked into it. I started with a target of 13 species and right now I am 1 more species shy of it.
I have had great and not so great days which is all part of the experience, but I've learned a lot over the course of this summer. I believe we will continue with our fishing sessions even if summer is over and hope fully get to discover new marks and share with others.
This is definitely worth everything I have spent for my gears and such.

Re: How has your summer fishing been?
its my third year shore fishing, and id have to say,not a great year.We have had some sessions to remember, but some dire ones as well.Mackerel have been pretty much non existant, except for two good sessions.have got some new species, but more elude me, pollock sizes are well down, wrasse scarce, and dammit why can't i catch a flounder!! On the upside we explored a lot of new marks, and have some great spots lined up for the winter.Mabye thats why the year has been funny,we have explored a lot instead of fishing just a few marks, but there is a lot of fishing left this year, roll on the winter species.

Re: How has your summer fishing been?
Iv had a great summer's fishing so far , had a few blanks but Im used to them . Iv had 2 new species Smooth hound which was a specimen and a Painted Ray which was close to the 10lb mark , a couple of nice Plaice , a strap conger from the beach a few niice Huss to 6lb my best bass so far was 8lb the thing fought way harder than a few specimen Bass ive had . I recently bought a Lure rod and some Lures from Padge73 on the site Iv had just the 1 Bass aabout 1lb on the Feed Shallow so far but I havn't given it much time . In May we were getting Mac's from a Waterford rock mark first cast full string and every cast with the odd herring on the feathers .
So in short my summer so far has been good . I hope I dont JYNX MYSELF NOW !

Re: How has your summer fishing been?
Very Poor in relation to hours/quality/quantity of targeted species we have put in.
September, October & November has the potential to rectify that though

Re: How has your summer fishing been?
I have had a good summer. First half of May, second half of June and July were good - 14 Bass in May, 11 Bass in June, 20 Bass in July. I got 7 bass in one session in July. So I am doing much better than last year, I don't think I caught a single bass in June and July of last year. August has not been so good this year - 5 bass so far. I have had a few good wrasse sessions in West Cork. However, pollock have been scarse this year - just 3 in August - mainly due to the weather, rock marks where I got some good pollock last year have been too dangerous to fish this August or the water too cloudy.

Re: How has your summer fishing been?
Brutal,
Not getting fish were I got them before even when conditions looked good. Wrong places at the wrong time. Not enough time to juggle work, family, work around the house and fishing. Bad weather spoiling fishing oppertunities.
Only plus is getting them on plugs this year for the first time which gives much more enjoyment than hauling in fish with a beachcaster.
Hoping with the 2 sets of big tides falling on weekends this september that things are going to change.

Re: How has your summer fishing been?
mine hasnt been too bad. ive mainly stuck to places i know have fish as i havent had time or the opportunity to go exploring new places.
when fishing for beaches ive only blanked once from about 10 sessions and when out for macks ive blanked once from 4 sessions. a flounder mark i fish has produced fish for me every time ive fished it. i havent had a lot of fish on a lot of them days/nights but i always manage something. the weed has been a problem for a few of my favourite marks tho. best night out was 9 Bass(5 for me), biggest being 5lb 14oz. cant complain really.

Re: How has your summer fishing been?
This is the first summer when I haven't been down fishing in Co.Kerry
I usually go down in July and then August again but due to a number of reasons I haven't been able to go this year.
Because of this I have concentrated and focused in on mullet fishing for a change.
It has been great crack, I don't know why I didn't do it far sooner than this.
I have put alot of hours in and thankfully I have managed to catch a few making to all worth while.
Although I am looking forward to the winter coming in and going down to Co.Kerry Bass fishing, I will miss the mullet.
