decide to go on a mackeral hunt to lacken pier no joy after a hour on lumi hokai caught a pound pollock throw back ,there was a couple of people there catching small pollock and keeping them one fella had 20 tiny ones in a net ( no wonder numbers are down ) after another half hour decided to head to enniscrone for a wee bit of comfort a nice handy spot you can back right up the pier and its not to snaggy and shelter from the wind set up a 3 hook flapper with mack (which i had to buy
) had 8 doggies and a endless amout of crabs feckers stealing my expensive bait ,
them crabs are part of the food chain so dont be to hard on em 
there was a 120ft stern trawler towing round the bay on Saturday so I'm surprised there's even seaweed left. 
Them fellahs are there on Lacken Pier right through the year catching nothing but tiddlers so you can imagine the damage they're doing 
the weather was a stinker
