Fahan Help

#1 Post by SHANE R »

Hi Lads

I was thinking of heading up to Fahan tomorrow after a few ray. I was wondering is there any place in particular on the beach I should set up or is it possible to get them all along there. Also what is the best bait to use should I just use straight mack or should I use cocktails with sandeel etc. I've never been up that way so it'll be an adventure anyway can anyone recommend a good tackle shop on the way.

Thanks in advance
Shane

Low water and hit it as far as you can. Mackerel / Squid, Mackerel, Sandeel/squid, sandeel/bluey. They have all work for me up there on different occasions. Fishermannum1 is the resident up there, give him a pm. 200-300 yards up from the marina is were I usually get good numbers of ray. The wind might put them off though... Long Pennel pulley with size 1/0 or 2/0's

You will see the gully when you stand from the shore.... plus the boat use it. ....thats were the ray sit. looks like the wind is south so it might be a nightmare up there.. if it no good head up to lenan or buncrana. good luck

Cheers for the advice Thoniefish. The wind seems to be playing havoc with my fishing a the minute. I got blown off a mark in Clew Bay last week thats why I decided to venture north. Is Lenan much further up from Fahan? Is there anywhere around there I could get a few mack for bait.

Cheers
