Tuesday 18th
Decided to head to my local rock mark for a few hours spinning on arrival conditions were good wind was light day was overcast. Fishing was slow for the first 40 minutes then things picked up started off with a Pollack about 1.5 lb followed by a lovely golden coloured one of the same weight.
Things went quiet again for 20 minutes then got another small Pollack & one nice Mackerel. Missed a good few fish not many Mackerel about but alot of Pollack around although on the small side.
Saturday 22nd
The weather got very bad when I was on route to my destination. The rain was belting against the car window with a very strong wind blowing. I was going to turn back twice on the way there but said I’d go for a look.
When I got there the sea was very rough with big swells & loads of weed about. But I said id give it a go as I’ve come this far, so I headed for the only fishable mark on a rough sea at high water with shelter from the wind a rock mark that’s about 10 foot above the high tide mark a very dangerous place when it’s raining as it gets very slippery.
Set up started spinning second cast got a small Pollack but it went quiet for a while, then I thought id hooked a Mackerel until I saw a lovely Garfish leaping out of the water. It gave a great fight, was very happy when I had him landed, a class fish like a mini Marlin. Next cast got another couldn’t believe it two in a row. Then got a lovely plump Pollack followed by a small one. Great few hours fishing well worth getting soaked to the skin for
