shannon estuary 23/8/09

People:me

Duration:2pm-4:30pm

Tide:lw @ 2:45

Weather:strong westerly with showers

Bait:mackerel and squid

Rigs:clipped ledgers

Results: 3 ray 4,5,6 lbs
2 conger 4,10lbs
miserable weather but good fishing..venue was snaggy enough today and lost a few rigs but thats fishing...had another good bite at the turn of the tide but was snagged from the off :roll: nice to see there are still some fish left after a bad years fishing..

Nice fishing Gearoid 8) just curious do you find many of your Ray with a lot of thorns on the underside?

apparently those with lots of thorns on the underside are resident fish...never take much notice.

cracker session there gearoid, some nice ray's and eels there, good man for sticking it out in that weather, well done.

Great stuff Gearoid,

This kinda proves you right about the amount of rain going into the estuary not effecting the fishing too much... got the bigger engine Dude,

25 HP Johnson so now i have no worrys about the tide's around there... Just need a few small bits to fix the cables to the motor and we will be off :D :D :D
