Report:headed out for a quick session as the tides are improving, tryed out my new diawa bg30 reel and it works a treat, very old fashioned reel and heavier than its modern counterparts but a steady action and tough as old boots and should see next year , anyways hit into a bass second cast felt a good size but came off after 30 seconds , then proceeded to get about 5 follows on the plug {dexter wigglestick} fish were spashing at it and following it right to my feet think they werent fully interested somehow, as the tide moved out more i really felt i would get a heap of action lost 2 more fish before i got 1 in . like to know what the rest of you guys think but i know if i had 3 trebles hanging off the plug i would have got more fish in just dosnt feel right to me especially since 1fish got ripped to shreds couple of weeks ago , fished on then almost if by switch the steady breeze just fell away to nothing and the mark glazed over like a pond no fishies after that . also sunday morning i was fishing the dawn seen a bird flying towards me in the half light cast my plug and the bird done a mad swoop after it then stopped and flew on towards me as it got closer i could see it was a hawk or falcon fairly big aswell as it got to the shoreline all the wading birds started crying mad suppose i would aswell if i was dinner

Great photos - shame about the missed fish. After spending a bit of time wrasse and pollock fishing over the last week or so I am beginning to get bass withdrawal symptoms - I will have to get out tomorrow night.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)
Cod season Winter 2014/15: 193 cod (best fish: 4.25 lbs)

Unfortunately I wont be able to get over that way - but I will be digging some rag in Cork Harbour at lunch time so I will bring a rod with me and give that a go for an hour.
