Report:Had to go to Bray with the wife and daughter who were looking for debs dresses or something .I brought the small rod and a bit of bait and walked down to the end of the pier. Hallelujah!!, a packet of 20 rag was left on the pier.I dont think ive ever seen it so calm here so i tried for some wrasse at the base of the wall. Straight away I got a blenny, followed by a couple of corkwing wrasse and a codling. I had 8 fish after about 20 mins . I've tried in vain for wrasse and minis here before so i was surprised. Then they got cuter and harder to catch. It was great seeing them go after the bait and bully the pollock and coalies away from it. I was after one particular wrasse for ages , i could see him taking the rag but he was well able to get it off the hook without being hooked himself . He won the battle this time when i gave up . When i dropped the bait down to the bottom i would get blennies, all different colours. Drop it out a bit from the pier, codling. I saw a lot of mullet at the mouth of the harbour, but they werent interested in the bait.Nothing out further apart from whiting . Forgot the camera so pics are from the phone, Dave

Hi Superhooks, i was telling the wife on the way home it was great to see your young lads catching so many fish, you obviously know what your about. It was getting embarassing at one stage there , they were catching so many . I couldnt help helping the other young lads out, i gave them some mini rigs and they started to catch straight away . Hopefully i changed their attitudes to the fish as they let it slip they were kicking the fish around the Dart on their way home from their last trip . The Da seemed a nice guy, he has his hands full there . I'm sure i saw you before somewhere Dave

spot on Dave, fair play to you for helping the young ones out, a little bit of education goes a long way towards changing their attitudes to the better, thumbs up

dear me dave,,,, those minis must break out into a cold sweat every time they see you walk down the harbours armed with a bag of rag they are addictive as hell with the bites coming every few seconds you'll end up like us. never feeling right going fishing without the mini rod safely packed and ready for action
