Help needed Zziplex Rod Lost off Wicklow

you would be surprised how many rods float when they fall in, air trapped inside you never know.

Maybe some kind soul out there is having a clearout of their fishing gear and has a rod and reel going . It would be nice if you got something , rather than you giving something for a change . To anyone out there that doesnt know Fishface, he's most generous with his time, knowledge and i dont think i've been out with him yet that he hasnt given someone something or other, he doesnt hoard extra stuff in a shed, he'd rather see someone get some enjoyment from it, so gives it away.Wish i was in a position to do something (maybe the lotto tonite ). I'd give you my 15 footer, but like lots of my stuff, i got it off you gratis and for nothing, and would be lost without it.

he probably will freak but what the hell.
he is far from a charity case but the rod he lost is a very special one i think it was one of a set of three made zziplex rods no other rod would be quite the same to neil he was quite proud of the beast he lost. you never now your luck zziplex might just make another one just for you there are some that can pull some strings around here

I just read Al and Jordan's catch report from Wicklow and heard about what happened to your rod, I think you were telling me about that rod last time I met yourself and Dave out in Wicklow and by the sounds of things its a pretty distinctive rod. I really hope it turns up for you and that if anyone finds it they have the honesty to get it back to you, I'll certainly keep an eye out for it myself if I'm out that direction during the week.

mate i'm gutted for you, would there be any diving schools near the harbour that would maybe have a search around for it. sometimes they are glad to get a chance to get some salvage experince for the newer members,

nice one minty best sugestion made maybe stick up a few posters on the harbour also offer a small reward there is bound to be divers there all the time and if they know they will keep an eye out .hope he gets it back sounds like a very nice guy

I have seen divers down there before on a few occasions i guess there must be some sort of diving club around the area, worth a bash, but as minty sugests a commercial diver may be the best person to contact.

just had a quick look there is a sub aqua club in wicklow, their club house is at the start of the other pier in the harbour will try and make contact if mintys boss doesnt know a diver in the area that could help

Had a look around the beaches & coves south of the peir today (as the tide was running that direction when it was lost) but no sign. But I was fishing off the corner that peir today and got snagged in something about 40 - 50 yards out which was not on the bottom a few times. There are also alot of pots out along there it could have gotten snagged in, so i mentioned it to my dad who knows a few of the fishermen.
