cuckoo ray waterfoot pier 7/8/09

People:Me and Dad

Duration:19:30-00:30

Tide:HT 00:05

Weather:sunny

Bait:Black lug,rag,mackerel,squid

Rigs:2 and 1 hook pulley rigs

Results: between us 8 doggies 4 flounder and 1 cuckoo ray




Report:
Arrived at waterfoot pier at 19:30 and was surprised to see only 1 person fishing it. Got the gear set up and first cast dad caught 1 small flounder straight away and the other flounder soon followed after that on black lug and rag. other people arrived at pier around 20:00 and seen them catch a doggie so When it got dark around 21:30 decided we would try and catch some doggies and put on some mackerel strips and squid. as soon as rod hit the water bites were starting then my rod hat a very hard knock and reeled it in and up came a nice size doggie, and other doggies all came after that. at 00:00 my dad though he had caught a nice dogie and was reeling in and found he had hooked a nice cuckoo ray, which was hooked nicely on the back of its mouth. after that we were catching doggies and decided to pack up at around 00:30.

some times catching crabs is a good thing.........or is it...........?
