Antrim Coast 23 July 09

#1 Post by round_ourway »

People:Me & Eddie

Duration: 8.00 - 10.30pm

Tide: hw @ 1.00am

Weather: Rain, Rain & More Rain

Bait: Mackerel & Sandeel

Rigs: Pulley Rigs

Results: Countless Doggies

Report:

Got a text from eddie asking did I want to head out tonight for a chance at the Huss again. The Met Office said the rain would clear in the evening. So we got to the mark and we were quickly into dogfish. Nearly a dogfish each cast with bait banging as soon as they hit the water. The Rain then started shortly after the first fish landed and released. I have never seen dogfish Fight like these wee fellas before, but they sure where angry when we got them in. Great sport, after a couple of hours we called it a day... the rain had beat us.

I dont know why people complain about catching doggies either. They are always welcome in my book!

Well done defying the rain. I was faced with it on Wed nite.....

I dont think I was hitting the distance for the huss on this occasion. The rain was doing my head (proper fishermen always blame other factors). Great craic with the Dogs. Best scrap I have had off the dogs for all the size of them.
