Report:two days to report here,we first went to pollock habour on thurs evening just to try for some congor and anything that wanted to get caught, after two hours with nothing but one mackerel and nets everywhere we gave up and went looking for a new pier that we had seen from afar.found it and had one rod each out searching and one spinning, within five minutes jason was into a good fish giving a real scrap he fought it for about ten minutes and got it to the end of the pier, bass!! it dived again when it saw the pier, but jason soon had it beaten again, and then disaster right at the pier wall it came off we sat down, both off us sick!jason more than me i think.we fished on and as a concelation jason got a good pollock, but that was it for the night.
day two and jason had the bass bug so it was a trip to mullarney beach where we had heard there were bass to be caught, but when we got there, there were a lot of people on the beach,so we decided to try the pier but it was full of macky bashers on the pier, even the sheep were having a go so after a quick conflab we decided to head back to the pier we were on thurs night, got there and put two rods out each, but the tide going thru was savage and the leads would not hold so we had to fish close to the pier wall,it was full of small pollock, and i mean small, and they kept committing hari kari, but they were pissing us off, then i got a good bite and the game was on,but it was just a good macky, soon after jason got a nice pollock of about 3lb.i took in one rod so i could spin as space on this pier is limited, was spinnind with a dexter when three bass followed it in but could not tempt them to take, not sure what i was doing wrong jason then hooked and lost a good fish, but we dont know what it was.we had a few more pollock after that by twelve we decided to go home that was when we found out we had a puntcure will deff go back to that spot again

nice going lads - fair play for findin the Bass - I'd say thats the hardest part taken care of , I'd say ya's will be glued to that place til you pick up a few. good luck for next time! (3lb pollack aint a bad consolation prize either )
great report Noel and pics as always! it sucks when a fine fish is lost like that next time. my last few days have saw nothing but sludgey weed covering line and tackle!
unlucky with the bass lads, seemed a bit of a slow session for you. but thats fishing for ya the sheep make for a funny pic thow, i'm always amazed how reluctant they seem to find higher ground and just stand on wee hills as the water rises around them looks like the wee pollack were'nt the only things willing to committ hari kari
