newcastle beach wicklow 19/7

People:myself and pat

Duration:approx 4 hours

Tide:2 hours either side

Weather:grand

Bait:rag mack and squid

Rigs:small hook flapper

Results:plaice dogs and whiting




Report:

hit newcastle for couple of hours early sunday pat first cast got a plaice and i got a doggie so no blank :wink: ,fishing was constant with dogs and whiting coming in then about 11 o clock all went slack not even a bite . about half hour later a seal popped up adout twenty yards out splashing around with a four foot tope in his mouth :shock: amazing sight as this went on for about 20 mins diving and coming up to take a bite out of him. anyone seen this before :?: damian

well done damian and pat,nice fishing,i didn't think a seal would go for a fish that size,it must have been a strange sight

Had a seal take a 6 foot conger one night as i was lifting it from the water,only i saw him coming he wouldve had a very nice rod and reel too.

nice one man :P . the seal and tope must have been amazing to watch :shock: :shock: . i would never have thought a seal would tackle a tope of that size :shock: . some of the things you see while out fishing are just spellbinding. better than any wildlife programme on the telly :P .

just a pity it was not the other way around with a pack of tope dining on a nice fat seal :lol: :lol:
