There not that expensive to be honest you can buy a small bottle of the stuff which will do about three jackets for about 15 euro. Its called grangers I dunno if they sell it anywhere else. Most waterproof jackets after a while start getting wetted out where the water just soaks into the fabric as opposed to beading off the jacket this happens after just being exposed to the rain and water. After a couple of washes as well will get rid off the proofing. Its good stuff. I might take you up on that eric soon enough.

A couple of years back, I got a great camo jacket and trousers for 30 euro in a big ex-army clearance warehouse outside Cork. 100% weatherproof but not lined and short on pockets. Recently I got a lined hi-vis work jacket, loadsa pockets and again 100% wdr-proof, for just 35 euro at a local street market. But I suppose out here beyond the bogs, you can get away with dressing for the beach like that....
