Connemara, Sunday 19th July

#1 Post by nige »

People:Papa Smurff, Saltydog, vinny, and myself

Duration:12.30-7.30 for myself and papa smurff.

Tide:HW at 3.30

Weather:dry and sunny :D

Bait:mack, sandeel, squid

Rigs:various

Results: 2 dogs and 2 ray for papa and myself

Report:

Ray and myself were 1st to arrive by a couple of hours. Someone was late leaving galway and then got lost :? and to make things worse he also had out sandeel which resulted in us not catching as many fish as we should have. Slagging aside thanks for picking of the bait conor. I was 1st of the mark with a dog, Ray wasnt far behind in catching his dogs. Conor arrived with the sandeel and on his 1st cast was into a small ray. I changed over to sandeel and landed my rays. Conor and Vinny stayed on after us. Hope vinny managed to pull out a fish. Conor also has the pics :)

Vinny and myself got fishing at 14:45 (we left Galway at 12:45 and after trying to avoid the match traffic and taking a not so short short cut due to taking a wrong turn and a sat nav with PMT and a muppet in a camper van who drove between 25mph and 30mph from before Moycullen half way to Mamm before we managed to get by him there were 20 cars behind him good job i'm a patient man  :P ) and fished until 22:45 at one stage it was looking like we might be there all night but Vinny pulled it outta the bag big time and finished with 11 Dogs and 1 Thornback Ray, i finished with 4 Thornback Ray and 8 Dogs...

Nie one lads, good session. And if you're going to post a vague location like Connemara you should hide the background in the pics too!! :P
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
