People: Myself & Daniel

Duration: 8:30 - 11:00

Tide: High at 9:30

Weather: Breezy but dry.

Bait: Tescos Prawns & Mackeral

Rigs: 2 hook flappers

Results: Me- 2 Doggies & a small Corkwing
Daniel - One big & one small Ballen Wrasse.

Report:

Now we're back from Holland it was time to get the rods out. We weren't terribly well prepared so we had to make do with prawns & mac that we bought from Tescos (I can't believe people actually eat the fish from here, not even close to being fresh).

We started fishing straight down the side for wrasse and whatever else came along.

It was fairly slow so I cast a couple of largish mackeral baits over tight against the North Breakwater.

Daniel got one nice wrasse (nudging 2lb).

I got two doggies against the far wall.

We were plagued with small bites all morning, I think I'll make up some mini-rigs for next time (size 12 hooks)

We put down a crab trap baited with prawns & mackeral. Would you believe we didn't lift one crab! We did get a few small wrasse, gobies etc in it though.
Species List 2012 (Me) - Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Plaice, Codling, pollack, dab, SS Scorpion Fish, Ballan Wrasse, Codling.

Species List 2012 (Daniel) - Not got started yet :-(

It was too early in the morning for the bashers. (Thats why we went early).

The place smelt of p**s so I'm quessing they were there the night before.
