Greystones steps/rocks

#1 Post by ian 123 »

People: me

Duration: 2-7

Tide: In and then out

Weather: Sunny, windy and then thundery

Bait: mackerel

Rigs: 2 hooks flappers, pennel pullys

Results: 2 doggies and a pollock

Report: Headed out to greystones just to mix the species list up. Water was pretty weedy all day which got quite annoying  headed to the steps first. after an hour of picking weed from my shockleader knot and no fish to show for it I tried moving to the rocks to the right of the steps. After a hour or so I got my first doggie, was happy not to blank to be honest. Next cast I managed to get another doggie. Was abit bigger than the first which was good. Before I packed up I got a great knock on the rod and pulled in a pollock of about 1 pound which gave a nice scrap for its size. Could have been alot better but was happy to get out and get a few fish. I will be back! :) cheers

Nice result picking up the pollock at the end. Tried the steps a couple of times but suffered terrible snags. The rocks is a better spot alright.

Fair play, next decent pollock I get, Is getting eaten! Never find the steps too snaggy, I never go straight out from the rocks but at a 45-60 degree angle towards the harbour and its much better ground
