Report:

ye ha!! it's good to be back. after a nightmare fortnight of head gaskets blowing and hard drives frying we were back out again. i'll have to keep this short as i've had to borrow my mate's laptop to do this report   i got my car back out of the garage on wednesday (after paying a £450 bill   ) and we hit bangor to try to stock up on mackies for bait. there were about a dozen other guys feathering for them too and not a single one taken :? :? :? . but at least we did'nt blank with me getting a single pollack and shorty getting 3 in 2 casts at the end (you'd think he might let me win once in a while   ). so i had to bite the bullet and buy some mack and we set out to our dog and huss mark. when we arrived it had started to blow a bit and bite indication was a pain, but we fished on until 3am with me blanking and shorty saving the day (again) with 3 dogs and a codling. one of the dogs he got was a monster and in true fashion i forgot the scales     . but i'd guesstimate it to be around 3 1/2lb.
DAY 2 i went back up to the dog and huss mark (on my own  ) as there was some bait left over and junior had his ju jit su class to go to. (yeah that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it   ). it was a lot less windy so the bite indication was a lot better resulting in me getting 2 small ballan wrasse, a wee red reef cod and a 3lb 2oz huss :P . it's worth mentioning that i fished this mark a few weeks ago with my mate and some idiot must have been fishing it before we arrived as i noticed a poor oul gull tangled in a 1 up 1 down trace with one hook through it foot and one through the beak and bedded in its cheek      there was a 5oz lead on the trace and it was baited with big chunks of mackie and we arrived as the gull was being swept off the rocks by the waves. thankfully (after a bit of surgery) i got the hooks de-barbed and outta him and left him wrapped in a towel for a bit to calm down as it was understandably quite stressed. so 30mins later i released him and he flew off none the worse for his ordeal. so please lads remember to strip your traces when you finish a session as traces can be easily forgotten and left behind. we have our first summer baot trip this wednesday, so i'll post a report up in the boat section when i get a chance :D
