After such a good day I said Id head back out yesterday by myself even though the water was much more coloured then the day before I stuck at it and used a plug (maria chase bw) with a red belly...thought the fish might see the plug a bit better and one fish did, I was watching the lure come back through the water when this very nice fish steamed up behind the plug and took it right at my feet seeing was unbelievable something I dont think il ever forget. After a 10 minute fight and 3 of the most terrifying runs Iv ever experienced and getting a wader full of water I lifted the fish out of the water and as I layed him onto the rocks the hooks popped out
2 succesful days...

2 succesful days...
Have been persevering with the lure for the last few weeks but due to easterly winds fishing was crap and WEEDY!! Had a friend up on monday and brought him to a spot I found recently that looks good and fishes even better monday was good we had 3 fish biggest being 5lb smallest getting onto 4lb countless follows and we both lost fish.... by the way my friend I brought out hadnt had a bass before he had a 5lb fish after 10 minutes fishing not bad for his first time...... All fish c&r

I new straight away this was my best bass yet coming on for 9lb on the scales
it took me about 5 minutes to revive the fish he eventually swam off strongly........ great 2 days
As they say things come in three so the third day this week should be a cracker

2011: Aims:
1. To discover as many marks as I can.
2. To catch a bass over 5lb on a lure.
3. To stick to, and learn about lure fishing so I can shake off the beginner tag!

Re: 2 succesful days...
Terrific stuff! Dead jealous, I am. Was out yesterday and today and towed the plug (YoZuri mag popper) right over the back of a decent fish twice, and got no response. Mayo bass arent anything like as obliging as down south. Oh for the Cunnigar...
