co wickla strand 7-7-09

#1 Post by roger de dodger »

People:me

Duration:8.30 till 12.30pm

Tide:full at 12pm

Weather:pleasant nice med rolling surf

Bait:rag crab and razor

Rigs:three hook clipped ,two hook clipped and a 3/0 pulley

Results:one lovely flounder and 5 more silver sloths of the sea

Report:its official team UN is over!!! deric lad aka crusty the clown has run off to fish for team ireland in wales   little traitor(hope he does well  )with dennis changing nappies and keith taking the lazey option i headed out with my new buddys  40 of viking tackles best ragworm
things where quiet till dusk with only one flounder to show for my efforts but from then on all was hectic with mad bites, slack liners and 5 bass landed, two lost at my feet in the surf and a few dropping of at distance ,had a new 15 foot rod that was well tested with 3 bass on it by the end off the night and two on the conoflex source,
sorry about the pics as my camera lost power just as the feckers came on the feed :roll:so phone took up the slack :)
met a nice lad from ashford who shared a few stories, marks and smokes and like myself i,m glad to say only left footprints on the beach when he was done 8)

no  got all the fish on ragworm no bites on the razor and crab got one knock at distance ,looked like a doggy bite chewing and the odd tug ,rag seems the number one bait for bass at the moment up this way :? maybe some live peelers may have done better the ones i had where froz leftovers from last week ,these tend to be the worst of what you have left over so maybe better tossing them in future
