Dingle Peninsula - Last 2 weeks of June

#1 Post by bovenip »

People: Me, family & friends

Duration: 20/06/2008 - 04/07/2008

Tide: Various

Weather: Brilliant

Bait: Mackerel, Lug, Rag, lures

Rigs: Various

Results: Conger, Ray, Bass, Ballan Wrasse, Corkwing Wrasse, Mackerel, Launce, Garfish, Sea Trout

Report: Just back from 2 weeks in Dingle. It was more a holiday with friends and family, but I managed to get in a lot of small sessions when I could, which was an exercise in frustration most of the time, but resulted in a few nice fish. The first week was spent solely with my girlfriend so fishing was relatively relaxed with as little climbing and hiking as possible. We stuck mainly to the piers (Scraggane and Baile an nGall) for the wrasse and one small session at Dingle Lighthouse for the conger and ray

The second week was spent trying to get as much time at the lighthouse and lure fishing for bass in Castlegregory and Ventry with a few night sessions in the marina for conger. This resulted in more ray, conger and bass as well as a number of garfish and seatrout.

Well done, looks like you had a really good holiday in Co.Kerry.
I am a regular visitor to that area and I think that the fishing there is second to none which is why I go down so often.
I am going back in September and can't wait. Well done again, great report & pictures too.
