Wicklow North Specimen Tope 6-7-09

People: Bigsod, Drummer, Myself

Duration:8 till 12.30

Tide: rising

Weather: Fluffy

Bait: Rag,mac,eels,crab

Rigs: Pulleys. 3 hook flappers

Results:Starry hounds,whiting,Tub gurnard,dab,plaice,Tope

We Planned to fish down in wexford changed our mind and decided to fish wicklow fishing was slow with me and drummer standing around watching sod getting a few flat faced fish nice plaice & dab i was sticking to my guns and staying out for hound i got rewarded and got hungry hound bite on my rod great little fighter he was!!next was drummer who got a massive knock on his rod he was into a nice fish we all watched to see what it was we couldn't believe it a 2cm whiting :lol: PIC BELOW :lol: i put out a flatty trace hopeful for a nice plaice but got a double Tub gurnard first ones ever i caught nice looking fish they are,,,drummer for real this time got a nice bite and was into a hound he was just about to land it.....Gone took this hook and snood drummer in his old age is forgetting how to do good knots..all went quite again till sod came up all chuffed with a little pup saying lads my first common hound we soon had to let him down and tell him it was a tope.... :wink:

Good craic even though my tope and hound were both only a foot long.Tonys tripod was knocked over and his rod nearly dragged in by a seriously good fish but it got off by as soon as he lifted into it.Got a good sized spider crab also, they had been cutting snoods throughout the session so drummer got his own back and took him home for dinner :D

in all honesty that fish could be 4 or 5 lb ,dont forget how BIG them hands are ,any one ever put a measure on em :!: :lol: :lol: bigsod is a horse of a man if he could walk and shite at the same time he,d be a model :shock:
