Skerries??

#1 Post by IDPearl »

Does anyone know how the fishing is at skerries? I saw an aerial photo yesterday and it looked like a nice place to fish.

I havent tried Skerries yet, bit too early for me. I would head to a place called Loughshinny.....long road leading down to it, continue all the way down to the beach and small pier will be in sight. Up onto the Pier and over to the far side of it, there are smal steps with an Alluminium railing going into the water. Just off to the right of this is a good summer mark, throwing up Pollack and Mackerel. Go to the boat side and some Flats can be taken. Thats all ive ever got, but i'm sure Dabs and the like can be had.

I have fished on a few occasions in the past few years off the pier in Loughshinny with no success.
Spoke with a few local fishermen who told me that it has being a number of years since Mackeral were spotted there. Maybe I should try again if you have had success there.
