Do I detect a hint of "sour grapes" here Davy. How could a fish this size give a good account of itself in eight inches of water? Nice fish Ronald, well done.

sour grapes my arse  i would never begrudge anyone a fish!!!!
the fish was hooked in 8 inches of water but it ended up in deeper water.it was the same depth of water he got the other biggie 2 days before and it fought like stink......

Thanks for all the replys guys , as for the above, Davy was there when both fish were caught and the first fish fought like stink, couldn't get it to the net for love nor money
This fish just swam out of the shallow ground and swam around in circles in the slightly deeper water, no powerful runs like the previous fish, it was just sitting in the current taking the odd bit of line from the reel.
If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.
