I've heard that a flooding to high tide occurring around dawn is best for mullet, but does this apply to harbour mullet?
I have been prebaiting with bread for a good while now in howth and I am worried about the seals which are swimming around the harbour.
Will the presence of the seals stop mullet feeding and should I be waiting for a time when the seals leave the harbour itself, or do they ever leave?
Also anyone know where I can buy a drop net around dublin?

try the mud flats at the back of bull island, crawling with huge mullet, that feed right up to the tiny pool where the santry river(or nanikan) empties out of st. annes.....

The fish in the lagoon are almost impossible to catch and are spooked even by the shadow of a float. I have heard of people who prebaited with bread for the best part of a whole summer here and still could not get them to take!

i had some luck last year in dunmore harbour with haddock as bait it was gone off about 2 days freelined on a small hook
