SWFF Pollock Kilkee, Co. Clare 01/07/2009

#1 Post by Ross »

People: Ross

Duration: 2 hrs.

Tide: Mid Tide flood

Weather: Calm, muggy, overcast, some light rain

Bait: Fly

Rigs: 9 Wt Salt Fly Rod, 9 WF Sinking Line, Red/Yellow Fly

Results:
2 Pollock

Released alive

Report:
Fished under George's Head Kilkee. Calm conditions allowed access to a low rock platform.
Had 2 Pollock follow the fly and turn away in a flash of bronze!
Finally nailed this big fella after a struggle to keep him out of the kelp! Had one other smaller Pollock.
SWFF is mental!

right thats it my sinking line is going on my reel havnt got one pollock on my setup with floating line even though i use a long leader and a weighted fly ,i think i,ll invest in one of those okuma reels with the two spare spools then i,ll have three lines with me instead of one  nice fishing and cracker of a mark 8)
